Shunsuke Matsushima is currently Deputy Head of Equity Investment Group at Sumitomo Mitsui Asset Management. Shunsuke started his career in the Corporate and Personal Loans Dept at Sumitomo Marine and Fire Insurance in 1988. He became a fund manager for proprietary fund (Japanese equity including large caps) in 1992 and started managing Japanese small caps at Sumitomo Marine Investment Management in 1996. Shunsuke joined Sumitomo Mitsui Asset Management in 2002. He is a chartered member of the Security Analysts Association of Japan. Shunsuke holds a B.A. in Economics from Hitotsubashi University. Away from the office, he enjoys golf and skiing.

Objective

At all times, this sub-fund invests at least 75% of its assets in equities and/or equity equivalent securities issued by companies having market capitalisation lower than JPY 500 billion and that have their registered office or conduct a significant proportion of their business in Japan. The remaining portion, namely a maximum of 25% of its assets, may be invested in any other transferable securities, money market instruments, financial derivative instruments and/or cash, provided that investments in debt securities of any kind do not exceed 15% of its assets, and up to 10% of its assets may be invested in UCITS or UCI.
